While participating in a safety meeting with a client about three years ago, I found myself in a strange situation. Other meeting attendees included a member of the Wisconsin State Patrol and an Inspector for the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration. During the portion of the Inspector's presentation on log books and vehicle inspection, he turned to the company officials and asked if they were compliant with these rules.
